Cayo Coco is often described as an enormous natural aquarium, and many of it’s visitors say that it’s hard to find another place in the Caribbean that has so many and such beautiful fish. The cayos are linked to the Cuban mainland by a stone causeway, which goes on to also connected it to neighboring Guillermo Cay, another natural paradise. There are four scuba-diving centers and several first-class hotels to guarantee your enjoyment of this natural wonderland noted for the diversity of its land and seascapes, the clarity of its water, the excellence of its sand and the beauty of its 20 miles 32 kilometers of coralline formations. Here, diving is a fascinating adventure shared with Stoplight Parrotfish, Grunts, Yellowtail Snappers, Queen and other Angelfish, anemones and Spiny Lobsters. Coco and Guillermo Cays, in the Jardines del Rey "Gardens of the King" Archiplago, off the northern coast of Ciego de Avila Province, are 310 miles 500 km from Havana, and 372 miles 600 km from Santiago de Cuba. Now Cayo Coco has its own airport. |
